5Excellent product  Jun 17, 2010
This is an excellent product. I can't say anything better than that, however 2 of the other reviews refer to this item as a 12 pack. I know it states only one item so I called Amazon and was guaranteed it was a 12 pack. I thought too good to be true! Well it was. It is only one, but for my trouble they did give me a $5 credit since I was promised incorrectly. I love Amazon and I love Prismacolor.

5Quantity!  Oct 01, 2009
I had always had a hard time finding the blender pencils at my usual craft store. Then one day I thought Amazon. Amazon is my main online shop and I had never looked. I like that so many came in 1 box! I'm a total amateur of drawing and coloring so I like to "play" with different ways and I think I will use these pencils in no time.
I highly recommend them and I really didn't mind the price, considering how hard it was for me to get more.

5A VERY USEFUL TOOL AT A VERY NICE PRICE  May 23, 2009
Don't be put off by the price of this twelve pack of blenders. The old saying "you get what you pay for" holds very true in this case. The price here is actually much better than you will find at your local art story (any way it is in my area of the country). Anyway.....

This is a most useful too. The product description here pretty well says it all. You need to think of this as a colorless colored pencil. It is absolute ideal for blending and clearing up rough edges. Colored pencils are not the easiest things in the world to work with and require lots of experience to truly mater them (something I have yet to do, but hey, I am working on it), and you certainly need all the help you can get. These blender pencils fit the bill perfectly and are yet another useful tool the artist can add to her or his arsenal.

These pencils are ideal for blending and shading which is very important to me personally as I do a lot of landscapes which include hundreds of shades of green (I live in the woods). I have also found it useful in preparing drawing of birds and the various other critters I first photograph and then draw. It is most excellent when trying to create a good representation of a mushroom...something else I love to draw.

As with another reviewer here, I do find that you go through these things rather quickly so I have found that ordering multiple sets works best for me as I am the kind that goes into a state of complete anxiety if I do not have access to the tool or material on an instants notice.

This is an excellent product and used with the other tools available will certainly make your drawing experience more enjoyable and certainly improve the quality of your work one you have master the technique of using them (which, while not easy, is certainly not insurmountable. If someone of limited talent like me can do it...so can you!)

Nice tool, nice price. What more could you want?

5Always a wonderful tool  Aug 28, 2007
I bought a two pack of the colorless blending pencils about two weeks ago, when I had bought my 120 set of Prismacolor Colored Pencils at my local art store. If you've ever worked with colored pencils at all, they can be difficult to work with, and to blend unless you know a really good way, and it's always hard to get into the small white spaces, where the texture of the paper gets in the way of a smooth finish.

THIS SOLVES THAT. You can easily get rid of those white spots in your pictures, make smoother shading and blending, and overall, have a smoother looking picture.

Cons: The pencil goes away really quick when your image is a full page. (Mine was, and it didn't even hold that much detail, and my pencil is now half as long as it was before.)

And that's about it. I'd definitely buy it, but I'd buy this 12 pack over any two pack that you can at an art store.
